RAE ST. CLAIR BRIDGMAN began collecting architectural, building and construction toys in 2014, following her interest in child friendly cities. Inspired by the collection, Rae (urban planner-professor-author-illustrator) and Wins Bridgman (architect-visual artist-community activist-storyteller) enjoy experimenting and inventing their own building toys, as part of their work with BridgmanCollaborative Architecture.
In 2014, ISABELA ARAUJO DO NASCIMENTO, MARINA RENOSTO GENNARI and THIARA OLIVEIRA ARAJUO, along with MING XIAO put on ARCHITOYTONIC's first exhibition - Building Toys: Architecture on the RED Carpet. Then in 2021, NADINE LOWDEN received an Undergraduate Research Award from the University of Manitoba, and spent the summer exploring, organizing, digitizing, and writing about The Collection, so that it could be shared with you! |
